Having survived eight decades on this planet and experiencing the Great Depression, the Second World War and all subsequent wars, gives me some degree of knowledge of what makes the world tick. These experiences I would like to share in this blog. I look forward to hearing your political opinions and comments on my blog.

Sorry Comparison

On one hand, we have a group of hysterical, frustrated liberals, with sections of the media, going on a political feeding frenzy all because of Kevin Rudd’s indiscretion in having meetings with Brian Burke two years ago. At that time, these meetings were innocuous news. Today, they are earth-shattering news.

There might have been some news value if Mr Rudd had been conspiring with Mr Burke and mining magnate friends to plot a campaign to increase uranium mining. As I write, there is no such evidence this was the case.

Mr Rudd admits his indiscretions and has apologised to the public.

On the other hand, John Howard’s indecent love affair with George Bush took him on frequent visits to the White House four years ago. Secret meetings were held to conjure up plans to invade Iraq.

This war was based on a lie and has cost the lives of hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqi people and thousands of US military personnel.

There is no admission that a terrible mistake was made. No apology whatsoever.

How has Mr Howard the audacity to accuse Mr Rudd of political impropriety?
